EA to Focus on Mobile and Free Gaming - Online Casino Archives

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) has said it will be developing fewer Facebook games and shift its focus to mobile and free games.

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) has said it will be developing fewer Facebook games and shift its focus to mobile and free games.

EA has become the largest publisher of free-to-play games on mobile devices.

They are doing this in order to double their share of the mobile market, one of their strategies has been to combine Playfish, the unit focused on social games, with Maxis studio, the developers of the Sims.

The company is now focusing on adopting a cross-platform strategy which allows them to deliver games which can be played on everything from home consoles, to iPads and Facebook.

Another option the company is considering is the addition of real money gambling to its World Series of Poker game. Frank Gibeau, President of EA Labels, says that this would be easy to do but it?s not necessary for the company to grow and achieve its goals.

EA Games has also announced their ?First Play Game Tour? which will debut around Australia later this month.

The tour will give games the chance to try out some of the most anticipated titles of this year before they are released.

The tour will be visiting Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with events running from four to six days.
